Janny Meyer was born on the 25th July 1938 in Andijk, a small village in the Netherlands.

She spent her childhood on a farm, which gave her the inspiration to draw what surrounded her. Her paintings have evolved from the sketches she drew of the chickens and ducks on her parent’s farm.

During her visits to Paris throughout her life, they have recently provided her with the material to introduce city views into her portfolio of work. These colourful detailed paintings capture those aspects, which are now but fading memories of a bygone era. The topographical scenes include period transport such as cars, trams and buses.

Although Janny is somebody who has acquired a great deal of knowledge she had no formal education. It was later in life that she received painting tuition from Jan Visser and H.F Boot, two renowned artists from Haarlem, Holland.

Janny Meyer has become a very successful artist, with galleries throughout Europe exhibiting her work.
